Use a Computer

The library has public computers with Internet access. This describes what we have and how to use them.

The Colfax Public Library has three public access computers. These are available on a first come, first serve basis. Adults or students can reserve a specific time for tasks such as testing, applications, etc.

Time limits on the computer are as follows: Each patron will get a one hour block of time unless others are waiting. Then the time allowed will be a half hour. Exceptions will be allowed for job applications, testing, research, etc.

A child must be in 5th grade to use the computer OR be  accompanied by a parent or guardian.

WiFi is also available for laptop or tablet use. A Cyber Cafe is in the lower level of the library and has comfortable seating and access to a Keurig coffee machine.

The Colfax Public Library cannot guarantee confidentiality over the internet. Patrons entering personal information do so at their own risk. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to decide which resources are appropriate for their children. Parents should let their children know if there are resources which they do not want them to use and are encouraged to supervise their children's internet use.
